And then there were two…

… in the NICU!

Jacen came home yesterday!

This morning we made our first walk from the Fisher House in the Ergo carrier. First half mile down! It was gorgeous and he seemed to like it.

The girls are co-bedding now which is too cute, and Jace shares when he’s here. I can’t wait till they’re all home together wire free!

35 weeks!

Well, the babes are 35 weeks now! Crazy to think if it were a single baby I’d still have 5 weeks to go!

Jacen is a nursing champ. In fact he doesn’t want anything to do with his bottle – much like his brother.

Val does well once she wants too, but she takes her sweet little time.
Jaina can’t be forced to work that hard, and takes a bottle instead.

They’re getting big and strong, finally gaining weight instead of staying steady, and hopefully getting closer to coming home!

Aiden is settled in here at the Fisher house, enjoying the new toys and playset outside. He likes his babies much better now that they’re in cribs!

One week!

Wow, I can’t believe its been a week!

Some stats:
Birth-
Jacen 4lb 10 oz, 17.7 in
Jaina 3lb 12 oz, 16.9 in
Valerie 3lb 15 oz, 16.9 in

One week-
Jacen 4lb 7 oz, 18.0 in
Jaina 4lb 4 oz, 17.5 in
Valerie 4lb 1 oz, 17.5 in

All the babes are off IV as of today! We’re also starting to wean down the isolette, so they get to wear cute little shirts now! Such huge steps in the right direction.

They are up to 140ml/kg/day of milk (160 is “full” feeds). That means right now Jacen gets 37ml every 3 hours, Jaina 33, and Valerie 32. That’s 105ml every 3 hours. These guys are giving me a run for my money!

Aiden is getting really clingy to mommy, but he seems to be doing okay. He saw the babies yesterday and didn’t understand why he can’t hold them. I think he’ll honestly do better with them home than with this. It’ll be nice to be home again finally!

If I haven’t mentioned this before, if you ever want a worthy charity to donate to or raise money for (i.e. a marathon team, etc), the Fisher House is it. I don’t know how we would do this if we didn’t have it. It’s gorgeous, clean, well stocked, and all they ask is that we clean our room before checking out.

33 days… but who’s counting

After 33 days, mommy finally got discharged and crossed the Tacoma bridge!

Now I know what prison inmates feel like after being let out on parole… it was nice to see the sun, my house, etc, but at the same time I felt “off” by not having my boundaries restricted.

The babies are doing great. Feeds are increasing yet again (Val-13 cc, Jaina- 14cc, Jacen- 16cc). I’m still far behind their demand, but we’re getting more each time, so hopefully I’ll catch up to them soon!

If I don’t update every day don’t stress, it most likely means the same as yesterday 🙂 I likely will get back too tired or too late at night to post every day, but we’ll do our best!

We did have a very special event this morning, I got to hold all 3 at once, and daddy got here for our first official picture. There are still too many cords for a full family photo, but hopefully in the days to come that will be easier!
